A New Concept in Women's Tallitot

Several years ago, I set myself a goal of developing a new form of a woman's tallit, to give dynamic expression to women's spiritual needs. My explorations led me to silk as a medium, and eventually I developed a hooded cape design as a new sacred garment, incorporating the traditional rectangular shape. Stripes were out, flowers and wings were in. Images of sacred gardens, birds, fruits and Trees of Life, pomegranates and rainbows, glorious voluptuous flowing shapes and colors, paths and journeys, all became imagery expressing itself in these pristine white silk "canvasses." May we all be blessed to follow our visions, and never grow too old to renew ourselves.
